About the event
Cedarville High School and Cedarville University Jazz Bands combine for one amazing night of Jazz! Doors open at 7pm. Show your e-ticket using your phone or printed copy at the upstairs landing.
The Cedarville University Jazz Band is under the direction of Dr. Chet Jenkins.
The CU Jazz Band was founded by Mike DiCuirci and Charles Pagnard in the fall of 1989. The group has played all over the eastern United States in schools, churches, festivals and concert halls. The band is one of the busiest music groups on campus, performing eight to ten engagements each year. Chet Jenkins served as the assistant director under Mike DiCuirci beginning in 2000, and took over as the director in 2016.
The Cedarville High School Jazz Band is under the direction of Mr. Jason Mahan. The CHS Jazz Band started in 2002, upon Mahan’s employment at Cedar Cliff Schools. The Jazz Band performs four yearly concerts at the high school. Also, the band performs a “Jazz and Tea” concert at Grace Baptist for senior citizens in the community as part of the school’s annual Spirit of Service week each February.
A variety of music is promised so there will certainly be something for everyone. Both bands will have a vocalist join in on a few numbers as well. The bands will combine to play a song or two together as they finish out the evening.
Ticket prices: $10 for adults, $5 for students, free for Pre-K and under -\- available online at cedarvilleoperahouse.org or at the door. Doors will open at 7:00 p.m. Proceeds from this event will benefit music programs from both the high school and the university.
The opera house is handicap-accessible with the use of a ramp and a chair lift.
